Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System with Coachlink on our 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Your five main components are going to be your tow bar, which will connect your RV to your Jeep, your base plate, which is a physical connection that the tow bar connects to, your supplemental braking system, which helps the Jeep to come to a safe and slow stop behind the motorhome, your diode wiring kit, which is going to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motorhome to the back of your Jeep, and then finally, your safety cables. This is going to come into play in an unlikely disconnect. If the tow bar we inchesre to ever come disconnected from the Jeep, those safety cables are gonna kick in and keep the Jeep behind you so that you can get over to the side of the road and come to a safe and slow stop. Now, the way this kit is going to work is it's going to take an air signal from your coach and apply the brakes on the inside of your Jeep while you're flat towing it down the road. more

There's gonna be five main components that are gonna be required for a flat tow up vehicle and there may be a few extra things that you'll have to add, but the basics that you'll have to have legally are going to start with our base plate, and that's going to become the mounting point for all your components and it attaches attaches to the frame of the vehicle. So it's a structural mounting point that has arms here that allows you to get your tow bar connected to it. Your tow bar is a connecting point between the base plate on your towed vehicle and the hitch on the RV. Now, along with that where our arms attach, we also have these safety chain loops. So just like a trailer, you have your safety cables, making sure that in case of a disconnect, it's gonna keep everything attached. more

Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System Installation - 2019 GMC Yukon- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2019 GMC Yukon, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Brake Buddy supplemental braking system. The Brake Buddy Classic Three is going to be a portable braking system and it's essentially designed so that you don't have to permanently install anything underneath the hood or on the brake pedal itself to have braking in your vehicle behind your motor home when you're going down the road. This system is also known as a transferable system, so if you decide to get a different vehicle to pull behind your motor home, this is gonna be a great option, because all you're gonna have to do is pull your wiring that you run up to the battery, pull that out, and then install a new breakaway switch and then take your Brake Buddy out and put it on your new car. Now the reason why you want to add a braking system to your vehicle is because motor homes are not designed to just stop dead weight behind them. They are large and they can stop a lot of weight, but that doesn't mean it's safe when you're going down the road, especially if you're going downhills or uphills. more

Today we've got a 2014 Ram 1500, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco Stay-in-Play DUO supplemental braking system. Now, the reason why you'll want to go with any braking system for your Ram 1500 is because, if you're flat-towing your Ram, you want the vehicle to be able to stop itself while the RV is stopping itself. So, the design of the Stay-in-Play DUO is it will apply pressure to the brakes on your Ram 1500, when you depress the brakes on the inside of the RV. This is what your system's gonna look like when it's installed. The main operating unit, which is this box right here, is gonna be the bulk of the installation, outside of the vehicle. more

Now the first one is gonna be the base plate which is gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle creating a nice structural support for your tow bar to be able to connect from your base plate to the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we have our safety chains and that's just in case of an accidental disconnect. It's still gonna keep everything attached and the mounting points are already on the base plate for you. You also have your diode wiring, which is gonna transmit light signals from the RV to the taillights on the towed vehicle. more

Today we have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco Air Force One supplemental braking system for flat towing your vehicle behind your RV. This system's also going to be a second vehicle kit. And essentially what that is, is it's designed to fit your vehicle if you're in one of three situations, if you decide to get a different braking system and the rest of your car is already set up to flat tow all you have to do is just get this kit. And another situation would be is if you get a different motorhome and it doesn't have the system on it to control your vehicle via air. If you have a say, a Stay-IN-Play DUO or a portable system and you want to use the air from your motorhome to be able to control the brakes on your vehicle then you can switch over to this kit also. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Demco Air Force One supplemental braking system. Now, this is gonna be a great option if you have air brakes on your coach, and today it's going on a 2016 GMC Terrain. Now, in flat towing your Terrain, there's gonna be five main components required for flat towing and the first one's gonna be a base plate, and that's gonna be the attachment point for all of your components, and it's attached to the frame of the vehicle, creating a nice sturdy mounting point. Going along with that, you have safety chains, which are in case of a disconnect, it's gonna hold everything together and that way the car's not getting disconnected. Now, between your base plate and the hitch on the RV, you are gonna have your tow bar and that is simply that connection point that allows it to pivot as you're going down the road. more

But before we do that, let's take a minute, check it out, and make sure this is something you might need. A stoplight switch is a really simple component and it's only really needed in some cases and it's really just gonna depend on what braking system you plan on using. So right off the top of my head, at least the the popular ones that I'm familiar with that could benefit from this is the Stay-IN-Play DUO supplemental braking system like we have here today on our GMC as well as the Roadmaster InvisiBrake. And what that stoplight switch is gonna do is send power to the braking system's indicator light letting you know when the brake pedal is actually getting pushed down in the vehicle when the supplemental braking system is operating. more

Before we get into that though, let's just take a couple minutes and talk about why it's a good idea to use something like this. The Brake-Lite Relay Kit is really gonna have one purpose, and that is allow your lighting functions to operate correctly. Alright, so let's say if you didn't have the Brake-Lite Relay Kit installed, what would happen is the motor home's brake light signal would override the turn signal back on your Maverick. So, more or less, just to kind of give you an example, let's say if you we're making a left turn at a stoplight, right So you're on the brakes, and you got your left turn signal going. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System for towed vehicles on a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. There's five main components when flat towing a vehicle that are gonna be required on your Silverado to get it down the road. And the first one is gonna be your base plate that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle creating a mounting point not only for some of your other components, but your tow bar. And your tow bar is the connection point between that base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we have our safety chains and these are going to make sure in case of a less than likely but potential of a disconnect, these are gonna keep everything still attached. And you also have a breakaway switch, which is part of your braking system, which is also a component which brings the vehicle to slow and stop when you apply the brakes on the RV and the breakaway switch as if this was to pull, in case of a catastrophic disconnect, it's going to apply the brakes on the vehicle, bringing it to a slow and stop. more
